Points to Ponder

What percentage of your church's budget is used to evangelize the lost in your community?

When is the last time you personally shared the Gospel with someone?

Is Jesus pleased with the your answers to these questions?

Bro. Makalo

Thank you so much for praying for Bro. Makalo.  We went to visit him at the hospital in Bloemfontein (about 2 1/2 hours away).  He is in the burn unit there and seems to be getting excellent care.  The doctor says that his burns are not extremely deep, so they will heal quicker.  He is in a lot of pain.  Please continue praying for him.  It is a tremendous miracle that he escaped with his life.  His legs were pinned under the seat in front of him from the impact.  The taxi was on fire even before it came to rest.  He has no idea how he got his legs free or where he got out of the taxi as he was near the back in a middle seat.

We serve a great God!

Lesotho Update

Dear Praying Friends,

Here are a few recent and urgent prayer items.  Thank you so much for your prayers!

  • A friend of ours from Lesotho was involved in a terrible car accident yesterday.  He accompanied us to Ladybrand and was riding a taxi back to Lesotho.  The driver of the taxi tried to pass another vehicle on a steep downhill near a curve.  The taxi collided with an oncoming vehicle, went over an embankment, rolled several times, and caught fire in the field below.  A number of people died at the scene or in hospital.  Bro. Makalo escaped from the upside down vehicle but was burned on his torso and legs.  It seems that the burns may not be extremely severe or deep.  We praise God for preserving his life.  Please join us in praying for a speedy recover and God's special comfort to this young man who has no immediate family.
  • Please pray for the Hope Christian Academy board as we make important decisions regarding possible staff for the school.
  • Praise God for rain!  It has been an extremely dry summer, but it started raining after midnight last night and is still raining!  After months of drought this is so welcome!

May the Lord bless you richly!
